The peacock is used as a symbol to represent Weatherstone Collaborative’s mission and approach to patient care. Peacock tail feathers illustrate beauty and confidence, and in many cultures, resemble royalty and power. In addition, they have been credited with the ability to revive dying relationships with their innate vitality. For centuries, symbolism of this nature has been used to convey a message of hope and inspiration with subtlety and nuance.
For centuries, many faiths have embraced the peacock totem as a harbinger of hope and inspiration. Followers of Buddhism view the peacock as a totem of renewal and regrowth. The Christian faith has used the peacock to represent the imperishable and incorruptible nature of the soul; whereas Celtic culture espouses that peacocks represent freedom and liberation of the soul. Hinduism touts the peacock as a symbol of victory over evil, noting that the peacock feeds on venomous snakes and remains unaffected, with the venom actually contributing to the beauty and vibrancy of their feathers; thus drawing a parallel that one is not to be overcome by poison/evil (or pain), but to overcome it and then be strengthened by it.
Weatherstone Collaborative views the peacock as a beautiful metaphor not only for recovery, but also for growth, resilience, and self-love.
It is said that when you wish to explore your hidden skills and talents, just as the peacock cannot see its own feathers and is unaware of its beauty, we too, can be unaware of our gifts. The spirit of the peacock can guide you into your inner consciousness to explore your true potential, to become fully aware of your strengths. You might despise your flaws and imperfections, but you must understand this; we all are humans, and to be truly human is to have flaws.
